Maya Tutorials

Underwater Dynamics

A useful two part tutorial on 'Dynamic Curves', that could be used for under water plants or even testicles.

Hair Dynamics

This 8-minute tutorial is intended to show how to set up a dynamic joint chain.

This tutorial is intended to show how tentacles can be created using hair dynamics. The method could potentially be applied to create tendrils that protrude from an arm.

AG: This screencap shows a ball of tentacles, which I had created using the nHair on Maya, while trying to follow the above tutorial video. It is very basic.

Weapon Creation Tutorial

I looked at the first part of this 3 part tutorial for some tips and tricks that we can use to help creating out product easier on our part, seen as some of us in the group have not much experience with Maya.

With this Speed Modeling of Kirito's Sword from the popular Anime - Swort Art Online, I was looking to see some of the other techniques people use when modeling something.

This isnt a tutorial, This is a finished showcase of the Master Sword from the Legend of Zelda series from the Skyward Sword game for the Nintendo Wii, I was looking at the end (Untextured) product to get an idea of what our finished (Untextured) product should/could look like.

Other Dynamic

A useful tutorial for a simple cloth dynamic. In the video he shows a poncho, but we could use this for a cape or something if we were to do a character.

An interesting tutorial for 'Hair-driven by joint dynamic'. Personally I think this wouldn't work as hair and would be more useful for clothing or even a curtain. It could be used for a cape if the cape was over one arm (infected arm) and then thrown over the characters shoulder revealing the weapon.
